I am a Fairbanks based artist specializing in mixed media designs. More specifically, I use sustainably harvested birch tree bark as a canvas for watercolor and hand embroidery. Each piece begins with a watercolor painting and is subsequently enriched with embroidery details that create a sense of depth and texture. In addition to the embroidery thread, I will occasionally use glass beads, vintage sequins, locally harvested lichen and other natural embellishments to further elevate the piece.
